Steel, wood, aluminum, or glass-paneled — 5 Star Garage Door Service measures your Amherst, VA opening precisely and installs a door sized and balanced to fit it correctly.
Every Amherst, VA technician dispatched for Garage Door Installation carries the specific tools and parts this job requires, not a generic all-purpose kit.
We'd rather send one truck that's actually equipped for garage door installation than three that aren't, even if it means a slightly longer wait on a rare occasion.
We measure your actual opening rather than working from assumed standard sizes.
Steel, wood, aluminum, and glass doors each carry different tradeoffs — we walk through them honestly.
Cleanup of old hardware and packaging is included.
New doors carry manufacturer warranty, and our labor is backed by a separate workmanship guarantee.
The most common choice for durability and value — steel resists dents better than aluminum and needs less maintenance than wood.
Real wood and composite carriage doors add distinct curb appeal — humid Amherst, VA climates factor into the maintenance conversation.
Lightweight aluminum frames with glass panels suit modern architectural styles — we reinforce mounting hardware since glass changes weight distribution.
Upgrading to an insulated door improves temperature control — it's especially worthwhile if living space shares a wall with the garage.
Older homes sometimes have openings that don't match standard sizes — we measure twice before ordering custom material.
Reach a live dispatcher at +1-866-597-3069 and describe what's going on with your door.
Most calls see a technician on-site within the hour, dispatch load permitting.
Your technician inspects the garage door installation issue and gives a flat-rate price before starting.
{Work is completed and tested through a full cycle before we call the job finished.|We verify safety function and smooth operation before asking for your sign-off.|Workmanship is backed by our guarantee, not just a handshake.}

We clean up packaging and old hardware before considering the job finished.
We'll give a specific timeline once the door and hardware are selected.
Steel generally offers the best durability-to-maintenance ratio for most Amherst, VA conditions.
If a living space shares a wall with the garage, the impact is bigger.
Custom orders take longer to arrive than stock doors.
We don't pair a new door with old, mismatched hardware.
